The Minister of Tourism and Commerce visits the center of Arrecife in support of the sector

Reyes Maroto was able to learn firsthand about the concerns and demands of several of the small businesses located on Calle Real.

The mayoress of Arrecife, the popular Astrid Pérez, accompanied the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, on her visit to the commercial area of Arrecife on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The mayoress welcomed Reyes Maroto next to the accesses to the Puente de las Bolas, symbol of the city of Arrecife, and from that area - known as Boca del Muelle - a visit was made to several establishments located in the open commercial area of La Calle Real, the main commercial artery in the capital.

In this visit, in addition to the first mayor, the minister was accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Hospitality of the Arrecife City Council, Armando Santana, the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Torres.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism held the presentation of a campaign to support the small and medium-sized business sector in Lanzarote this Tuesday, given the current situation of these companies in Spain after the pandemic.

During the visit, the first official visit to Arrecife and Lanzarote by Minister Reyes Maroto, they were able to learn firsthand about the concerns and demands of several of the small businesses that are located in the capital. The visit concluded with a final walk to the Charco de San Ginés area, where the government group led by Mayoress Ástrid Pérez has a series of projects and investments underway to relaunch this leisure and tourism area.

The mayoress informed the minister that an investment of 500,000 euros will be launched in this term to modernize the public spaces linked to the open commercial areas of the center of Arrecife.
