The majority of bus drivers in Arrecife are supporting the general strike, so this Wednesday morning only the minimum services decreed are operating. According to one of the union representatives of this group, José Antonio Perdomo, "only six workers are operating and because they have to comply with the minimum services". Thus, twelve drivers from the capital have joined the strike day.
In Arrecife, only lines 1 and 3 are operating with one bus each. According to Perdomo, there have been no incidents with any picket lines and there are no problems with the schedules, since there are many fewer travelers than on a normal day and, in addition, "there is practically no traffic".
For its part, from the company Lanzarote Bus, which operates throughout the island, they assure that "no worker has supported the strike", so their service operates with "absolute normality like any other day". However, they do perceive a decrease in passengers who have decided not to use public transport.
