"My client cannot adopt any other position than the closure of the activity." This is how the lawyer of the Cabildo engineer accused in the Stratvs case, Manuel Jesús Spínola, spoke during the appearance held last Wednesday to decide whether to order the sealing of the winery.
The lawyer is also the director of the legal advice of the Cabildo, and was appointed by the Corporation to defend this technician in the case, in which he is accused of having issued a favorable report on the construction of the winery.
In his speech, the lawyer explained that what his client did was to carry out "a report of classified activities, on a plan contemplated in the project", which was later not adjusted to what was actually built.
Now, in view of what has happened, he considers that Stratvs should be closed. "Manuel Jesús, as the responsible technician, will have to assess the degree of compliance with the environmental actions, and that is what he has done," said his lawyer and lawyer of the Cabildo, just before stating that his client's position was to request the closure of the winery's activity.
