Oswaldo Betancort, and the vice president and Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, recently visited the start of the improvement works to the accesses to the Los Cuarteles roundabout, in Arrecife.
“This intervention was a demand from the citizens of the island, since with the creation of an additional lane in both entry branches to the roundabout, the queues that are created in the middle of the ring road are greatly mitigated”, says Betancort.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote allocates a total amount of "603,312.8 euros" for this intervention, and the company Hormigones Insulares S.L. is in charge of carrying out the work, which will have an execution period of "six months".
Jacobo Medina, recalled that by providing one more lane in both entrances, “the capacity of the same is doubled, which will avoid large queues during peak hours." The works have begun in the "area closest to Argana, and this intervention does not affect the circulation of vehicles, since it is working behind the median."
However, the Cabildo of Lanzarote asks citizens to "drive with caution while the works are being carried out, respecting the provisional signage, which may change daily."
