The Cabildo of Lanzarote will be present with a stand at the World Cheese Awards competition, the main event in the world related to cheeses, which this year is held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between October 1 and 3.
Different varieties of cheese from the companies Rubicón, La Atalaya, Finca de Uga, Montaña Blanca and El Faro paired with wines from the wineries Rubicón, Stratus, Bermejo, Vega de Yuco and La Geria, will be tasted at the World Cheese Awards, in the different categories, and will show the quality of their products in tastings. In addition to the tastings, the Lanzarote stand will offer its visitors an interactive game in which, if several questions related to the destination and its culinary offer are answered correctly, they will be entered into a draw for a trip to the Island.
Unity is strength
The Minister of Agriculture of the Cabildo, Lourdes Bernal, has presented the initiative at the Farmer's Monument, together with the representatives of the five cheese factories.
"The Cabildo of Lanzarote has acted as a link and umbrella for the different cheese factories so that they present themselves united with a peculiar and differentiated product from the island, instead of doing it independently", something that according to the Minister, "gives us more strength and specific weight at the fair".
"We have raw materials of enormous quality and we participate in national forums and gastronomic destination clubs, such as Saborea España, which place Lanzarote in an unparalleled showcase," added Bernal.
