The Cabildo of Lanzarote wanted to thank the Government of the Canary Islands for the "speed and willingness" in the removal of the fallen windmill in Montaña Mina last week, work that began this Monday and is scheduled to end on Tuesday.
The Vice President and Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, together with the Minister of Energy, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, visited Montaña Mina together with the Director General of Energy, Alberto Hernández.
"It is appreciated the willingness to solve the problem by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands," said the Vice President and Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, who also stresses that it is time to "analyze and see where Lanzarote wants to go in terms of energy."
"The Government of the Canary Islands is acting quickly to solve the problem and end years of neglect. We have already ordered the removal of the damaged wind turbine and will closely follow the procedure for the dismantling of the Montaña Mina wind farm as soon as possible," said the Director General of Energy, Alberto Hernández.
The Minister of Energy, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, has valued "positively" the visit of the Director General of Energy, "thus demonstrating his concern and commitment to solve, once and for all, the critical situation in which the San Bartolomé Wind Farm is located."
