The Cabildo of Lanzarote presented this Monday the new edition of Lanzarote Fashion Weekend (LFW), a free access event that will be held on November 8 and 9 at the Hotel Paradisus by Meliá Salinas.
The presentation was attended by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Councilor of the Industry Area, who highlighted the importance of this event in the projection of local fashion and the commitment to sustainability.
Jiménez, in charge of presenting this year's program, stressed that the Lanzarote Moda project continues to grow and consolidate as a benchmark for emerging talent on the island. "Lanzarote Moda is not just a project, it is a platform that promotes our local designers and highlights the craftsmanship and creativity of Lanzarote. This year, in addition, we reinforce our commitment to sustainable fashion, a central axis of the textile industry that continues to gain ground globally," said the councilor.
During the press conference held at the Hotel Paradisus by Meliá Salinas, Jiménez highlighted the participation of local designers and brands who will present their new collections in an environment that merges art, fashion and the natural environment of the island. "The essence of Lanzarote will be present in each fashion show, in each proposal. Lanzarote Fashion Weekend has become a unique showcase where the public can enjoy the best local fashion in an incomparable setting," he added.
In addition to the fashion shows, the event will include a market where attendees can learn about and purchase products from Lanzarote designers, as well as a series of talks and workshops focused on sustainable and circular fashion. "We want this event to not only be a meeting point for fashion, but also a space for reflection on the challenges and opportunities presented by the sector in terms of sustainability," said Jiménez.

Finally, the councilor reiterated the importance of events like this for the promotion of the island internationally. "This type of initiative is key to giving visibility to Lanzarote and positioning it not only as a tourist destination, but also as a benchmark in fashion and sustainability," he concluded.
Lanzarote Fashion Weekend 2024 will be held on November 8 and 9 and will feature the participation of more than a dozen local designers, as well as other creators from the islands of La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, in addition to special guests and experts in sustainable fashion.
