The Cabildo pays the subsidies for the sports sector of Lanzarote

The Cabildo of Lanzarote began on Friday, January 20, to pay the package of subsidies for the sports sector of the island. Nearly 237 athletes, sports entities and elite athletes will benefit from the 835,560.54 euros that the Island Institution has allocated to support the travel of athletes and teams, the growth of sports schools and help the representatives of the elite of Lanzarote.

The Minister of Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Alfredo Mendoza, expressed his satisfaction for the "speed and effectiveness with which they have been able to work to start paying these benefits so quickly. Throughout these days, the first beneficiaries will receive this aid, which is so essential for the development of their activity," he said.

"These subsidies will help the sports sector of the island to take a leap in quality and will allow clubs and athletes to have the necessary resources to continue growing and improving," the councilor pointed out.

Of the total number of applications, "20 correspond to the promotion of sports clubs that participate in official competitions of base categories of soccer and soccer, distributing among these 60,560.55 euros; 425,000 euros will be allocated to support travel to competitions of regional, national and international scope of 88 athletes and clubs on the island," they point out from the Cabildo.

The Cabildo will subsidize 72 applicants from sports schools with 300,000 euros and the 57 high competition athletes with approved applications will receive 50,000 euros between all of them.
