The Cabildo of Lanzarote has obtained an extraordinary extension of the subsidy granted by the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands to carry out the transformation works of the San Bartolomé Pavilion, an amount that amounts to one million euros

The Vice President and Councilor for Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, values this achievement as “a very important event given the deplorable current state of the sports facility.”

“When we came to the Government we were aware of the need to execute this work and, given the delay in sending the project by the City Council, we were forced to request an extension of the subsidy period from the Government of the Canary Islands,” he said, who also thanked the Minister of Education, Sports and Physical Activity of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Ángel Sabroso, “for their concern and cooperation in making this extension a reality.”

“It should be noted that this facility hosts Honor Division Oro matches, so we could not conceive that it was in precarious conditions,” said the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, who assured that this extension “will allow this transformation to be carried out”.
