The Cabildo of Lanzarote announces the opening of its new WhatsApp channel dedicated to the Experimental Agricultural Farm, created with the purpose of keeping all interested parties informed about the latest news and services offered by the Area of Agriculture and Livestock.
After evaluating all available digital communication channels, the choice of this new online medium responds to the needs transmitted by professionals in the sector, who demanded a more direct and effective communication channel to obtain updated information on deadlines for procedures and activities, such as campaigns to apply to be an onion producer or scallion beds, vine staking, courses and available subsidies, among other procedures.
In addition, through the new channel, phytosanitary warnings will be issued from alerts generated by our weather stations, which will report on the appropriate conditions for the appearance of pests. Relevant news, emergency situations and any other information of importance to the agricultural community of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will also be communicated.
The president of the Corporation, Oswaldo Betancort, states that "the commitment is to continue advancing in the modernization and proximity of the public administration to favor a more effective and efficient attention to the citizens. In addition, he adds that "we guarantee transparency, proximity and accessibility to information between the institution and the citizens. We are dedicated to supporting the farmers and ranchers of our island, and this WhatsApp channel is another tool to ensure that they are informed in a timely manner, especially what concerns them," he adds.
In this sense, the president invites all interested parties to follow the WhatsApp channel of LA GRANJA CABILDO LANZAROTE. "With this new medium, we hope to improve accessibility and speed in the dissemination of important information, thus benefiting the entire agricultural community of Lanzarote," concludes Betancort.
More direct and convenient communication
It should be remembered that last April, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Citizen Attention Area, activated the first WhatsApp chat on its institutional website to reinforce citizen participation and improve the proximity and transparency between the institution and the population of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This service has allowed a more direct, comfortable and fluid communication with the Corporation, facilitating a more effective and efficient attention to the citizens.
This tool is guaranteeing a direct communication through mobile devices, which is being attended by the staff of the Office of Attention and Information to the Citizen from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and managing the messages registered outside of this schedule to be answered on the following business day. The counselor of the Area of New Technologies and Attention to the Citizen, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, emphasized that "this platform streamlines the communication process and improves the experience and the level of resolution of demands of the population".
