The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, visited this week the works of the soccer field and the new Civic Center of the town of Costa Teguise.

Both were accompanied by the Councilor for Works of the City Council of Teguise, Eugenio Robayna, and were able to see firsthand the completed actions of the Civic Center, as well as those of the soccer field, which are in the final phase. Between both projects, the Cabildo assures that "more than 1.8 million euros have been allocated through the Municipal Cooperation Plans."

The president valued the final result of some infrastructures "so demanded" by the population as is the Civic Center, for which the citizens have been "waiting for years and that will be able to host activities and events for hundreds of people".

“We are delighted that this project is a reality for the municipality of Teguise. We have tried to create a space with diverse functions, spacious, modern, sustainable and respectful from an environmental point of view, all in order to have a lasting Civic Center for users”, added the president.

For his part, the Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, was pleased with the result of the action and detailed that it is equipped with "sports services and spaces for various uses with the complementary support of a cafeteria, changing rooms and office with large terraces as living areas, children's games, walks and gardens".

Regarding the soccer field, the councilor pointed out that the works "are about to be completed, pending the work on the lighting towers that the Teguise City Council has already awarded and that were outside the work of the enclosure, which contemplated a playing field, a sports court, lobbies, changing rooms, weight room, stands, toilets, cafeteria, meeting rooms, warehouses and other facilities".

“The sport of the municipality will be significantly benefited from these new facilities, especially the boys and girls. The population of the town has increased considerably, so it was essential to adapt the infrastructures to the needs of the citizens”, concluded the councilor.

The soccer field has a total investment of 2,049,444.70 euros, of which 850,000 come from the Cabildo, while the Civic Center has been financed by the first institution with 960,900 euros, of the total of 1,316,523.02.
