The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Presidency Area directed by Andrés Stinga, began this Wednesday the dismantling work of the Wind Toy “Róbalo”, work of César Manrique, to carry out its maintenance and rehabilitation and that its pieces can enjoy more mobility. The sculpture, 12 meters high, has been on display since mid-2017 in the roundabout of Los Pocillos beach in Puerto del Carmen.

The work, which is being carried out with own resources, consists of disassembling the seven rotating modules, moving them to the welding workshop of the Mobile Park and performing the cleaning, polishing, repainting and replacement of deteriorated elements. In addition, the necessary tests will be carried out to improve the aerodynamics and reduce the interference that exists between the different components.
