The Cabildo of Lanzarote has awarded for an amount of 197,371.89 euros the extension and renovation of the building that will house the Drug Addiction Care Center (CAD) of Arrecife, located at 116 Andalucía Street - behind the Lanzarote Sports City - and which will house the Drug Addiction Care Unit currently located on Doctor Juan Negrín Street.
The company awarded the open procedure, Construcciones, Reformas e Inmobiliaria O'Hara Canary S.L., will have an execution period of five months once the administrative procedures established in the contracting process have been completed. According to the Councilor responsible for the Social Welfare Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Juan Manuel Sosa, with this work "a more adequate service will be given, in terms of space conditions, to the approximately 800 users that the Drug Addiction Care Unit currently has".
In the new CAD facilities, the services currently offered in the Unit will continue to be provided, such as drug-free and opiate substitute programs, legal intervention, social incorporation, minor service, drug addiction prevention and pharmacy-laboratory.
The Drug Addiction Care Network of the Cabildo of Lanzarote is completed with the Semi-Residential Drug Addiction Care Unit Zonzamas and the Residential Drug Addiction Care Unit Zonzamas, both also within the municipal district of Arrecife.
