The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved this week the awarding of the conservation service of the island's road network to the company Señalizaciones Villar, S.A., for a total amount of 3,022,673.52 euros, IGIC included.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, explains that "the contract will last for two years, extendable to two more years, and will be financed with the corporation's own funds." "The objective is to improve the general conditions and the safety of the entire network", she points out.
For his part, the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, points out that the object of the contract "is the repair, maintenance and all the services that are associated with the road network, both island and regional." "What we want is for the 344 kilometers of roads to be maintained in optimal conditions and that we also have an urgent response service to the actions that may arise in the event of any accident, rain or landslides," he adds.
Road cleaning
This ordinary conservation contract is in addition to the one that was already awarded by the island institution last year for the cleaning of margins and the improvement of garden areas and from which all the municipalities of the island are already benefiting according to the Cabildo.
