The plenary session of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, held this Monday, has agreed to adhere to the institutional declaration, promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which claims the rights of women and, in turn, denounces sexist violence, and the discrimination they continue to suffer to access employment, education or health on equal terms.

The document, supported by all the political groups represented in the plenary session of the Corporation, underlines that "one more year, the Spanish local governments want International Women's Day to serve to mobilize people from all over the world and invite them to discuss ways to promote the empowerment of women, eradicate the violence they suffer in all its forms, and reaffirm their commitment to a just society.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Social Welfare, managed by Lucía Olga Tejera, will join this March 8 all the events organized by the different platforms that work daily on the island to normalize, respect, and promote the rights of women.
