The Cabildo of Lanzarote approved in the Island Government Council held this Monday, July 11, the inclusion in the financial forecast Annuity 2022-2023 of the FDCAN Program, ‘Lanzarote Strategy 2016-2025, projects to improve the roads and the environment of San Bartolomé for a value of 2.4 million euros.
Within the framework of this Strategy, and with financing from the Canary Islands Development Fund, the agreed item contemplates the execution of the projects for the conditioning of sidewalks and resurfacing in San Borondón and Princesa Ico streets of Playa Honda, for a total of 1,449,613.95 euros, and the adaptation of Mástil street in Playa Honda, with an investment of 950,400 euros.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, explained that the agreement taken in the Government Council “is part of our commitment to the municipalities of the island, to improve their infrastructures, since these actions are of special interest to the population of San Bartolomé and will help improve the image and road safety in the town of Playa Honda.”
“We have responded positively to the request of the San Bartolomé City Council to finance these projects and we hope to continue acting in other municipalities that need it, in order to continue working together in the same direction and achieve a homogeneous development of the island”, Corujo highlighted.
For his part, the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, conveyed his thanks to the Cabildo and the president for making possible the execution of some demanded and necessary actions thanks to the agreed investment and pointed out that he hopes “that the projects advance as soon as possible and that this inter-institutional cooperation continues to be repeated in the future.”
