The Teguise City Council, through the Commerce area, has launched a promotional action to encourage local consumption in the municipality during the Christmas campaign. The objective is to promote consumption in each town in the municipality, appealing to the solidarity of the residents, inviting them to consume in shops and other local establishments during these special dates, for which the collaboration of the merchant associations of the municipality has been counted on, as well as Felapyme.
The protagonists of the campaign are the merchants themselves, who show a close-up while they carry out their activity to invite citizens to support small businesses with a late motiv: #YouAreAlsoTeguise, a message that will be disseminated through offline and online channels in two languages, accompanied by various dynamization initiatives based on raffles of attractive prizes with shopping vouchers, as well as window dressing contests and proposals for guided tours of the Historic Site of the Villa de Teguise, to learn about the mark that history has left on each establishment in the old capital of Lanzarote.
“Teguise is very aware of the importance of local and proximity commerce as an engine of the economy, generating employment, activity and a good atmosphere in its streets, both for residents and for those who visit us”, said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, during the presentation, in which he thanked “the participation of all the small business owners and freelancers who work hard to get out of this situation.” “I would like to convey to all of them our commitment to continue promoting commercial activity and bringing citizens closer to their businesses,” he added.
As head of the Commerce area, Olivia Duque, explained that “although this campaign begins on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, from Teguise we will continue to design new actions in 2021, which will be reinforced with a media and social media plan to give them the greatest possible dissemination and success. In this sense, we will continue to visit those who make up the network of shops in Teguise and La Graciosa so that they can join the campaign and give them greater visibility.”
