The City Council informs that the construction of the new niches of the Caleta de Sebo cemetery, on the island of La Graciosa, has been awarded this Thursday to Rehabilitaciones y Construcciones Sanabria, the same company that resumed the works of the future Socio-cultural Center last August, and whose forecast is to have the electrical installations and plumbing ready in October and move on to the placement of interior and exterior carpentry of the building and finish within the planned period of 4 months.
"We celebrate that a need of the people of La Graciosa has been satisfactorily resolved, such as enabling 15 new niches, and also that one of the most important social projects of the Eighth Island will be a reality before the end of the year," said Oswaldo Betancort as mayor of Teguise, who has visited the works of this infrastructure on several occasions, "which, as I have been able to verify first-hand with the councilor delegate of La Graciosa, Alicia Páez, is going at the planned pace," added Betancort.
"We hope that both actions will be completed as soon as possible and thus be able to respond to the demands of all the residents of the town, especially a project that they have been wanting to enjoy for a long time, such as the future cultural and social meeting point, in which new initiatives arising from citizen participation will be promoted," said Alicia Páez, who, on the other hand, assured that "the priority objective of the Teguise Government group is to expand the San Simeón Cemetery and guarantee the capacity and proper functioning of this municipal infrastructure for a long period of time."
