The Councilor of the Contracting area of Teguise has highlighted "the good progress of the service awards that the City Council is carrying out", and has assured for the tranquility of the residents of the municipality that "the public service of collection and transport of urban waste and street cleaning of the municipality will be guaranteed one hundred percent until the resolution of the future contract" that they will prepare conscientiously to reorient and modernize the service".

Olivia Duque has also recognized the "good work" of the area team "for responding diligently to a situation that requires greater effort to implement measures aimed at cushioning the impact of the economic crisis, and carry out many contracts in recent months, which affect the entire citizenry and the quality of services offered to them."

Specifically, Duque has referred to the contracting of school cleaning, two tourist projects, the acquisition of new electric vehicles, the new insurance contract and repair shop for the Mobile Park, photocopiers, supply of stationery and IT, among other tenders that amount to 2.4 million euros.

Strengthen the Technical Office

The head of the Technical Office of Teguise has also highlighted "the good pace in the processing of files of the municipal Technical Office, which managed to report on at least 70 issues raised by citizens electronically during the state of alarm and that will continue to be reinforced with the hiring of staff." In this sense, it is highlighted that, as the government group of Teguise had promised, the contracting file has been initiated to incorporate new professionals to the Technical Office with the aim of speeding up the pending procedures.

"A good job has been done during these exceptional months, and now that we have reopened the doors, we have to provide the department with more staff to carry out the files that are awaiting resolution or a report," Duque said.

For his part, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has acknowledged that "there is a lot of pending work that will continue to increase due to the idiosyncrasy of Teguise as a municipality with more rural territory on the island, as well as with greater promotion of single-family homes and greater purchasing power compared to other populations." "Which means that the economic reactivation that we will experience in the coming months must involve efficient management in the diligence and paperwork that the public administration has to carry out. Only in this way can we respond to the demand of society, both for private projects and for investments in tourist infrastructures that can promote that economic and social well-being that we all long for," added Betancort.
