The political formation Sí se puede "is committed to expanding and strengthening the unity of the left before the general elections." The Canarian eco-socialist organization sees in Movimiento Sumar "the best prepared instrument in the face of the imminence of the call."
The coordinator of the Canarian assembly party met this past Thursday to analyze the results of the local, island and regional elections and reflect on "the new political scenario opened after them" and before the state call on July 23. In this sense, it reiterates its "willingness to facilitate unitary processes of the Canarian left", which, in its opinion, were limited and insufficient before the call of May 28.
For Sí se puede, "reaching unity agreements is an essential task that, however, must be developed with conditions that guarantee that the people who represent the Canary Islands on behalf of the left-wing forces in Congress and the Senate have the guarantees to respond to the political processes of the Islands and that they defend a program of Canarian obedience without fissures."
For this reason, the eco-socialist organization considers it essential that the candidates emerge from "dialogue processes in each territory and are not imposed from Madrid."
Finally, the Canarian Coordinator of Sí se puede also decided to communicate its approach to representatives of Movimiento Sumar and convene for next week the forces of the Canarian left willing to participate in this unitary process on equal terms.
Sí Se Puede is committed to a great confluence of lefts, as Más Canarias and Izquierda Unida Canarias have also shown.
