The San Bartolomé City Council has awarded the integral management of the municipal Animal Protection Center, a contract that has 54,000 euros of investment and aims to promote a comprehensive care service to improve animal care and welfare in the municipality.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, points out that the facilities can house up to 40 animals and it is necessary to have an efficient management that is responsible for ensuring the safety, welfare and protection of these, while seeking possible homes to welcome these pets, so we continue to bet on a quality management of the Municipal Center through this tender.
In this sense, the Councilor for Health and Animal Welfare, Fernando Vadillo, details that "the objectives of this contract reside in the collection, surveillance and control of lost or abandoned animals; in the care, cleaning and feeding of these, and in the development of adoption and reception programs for pets housed in municipal facilities."
More specifically, the service includes the collection, reception, surveillance and control of stray or abandoned animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week; the maintenance of these, including feeding, health and comprehensive care of the animals; the preparation and execution of an active Socialization and Re-education program, with activities and walks by volunteers and action by specialists in Canary education and / or ethology; the maintenance and cleaning of the facilities; the attention to visitors; the elaboration of health, educational and social awareness campaigns or the collaboration with entities whose activity is aimed at the protection and defense of animals, among others.
