The San Bartolomé City Council initially approved in the plenary session held on Thursday, the bases to grant direct subsidies for the rehabilitation or adaptation of homes to the conditions of habitability, energy consumption savings or accessibility.

The City Council points out that these subsidies are intended to promote rehabilitation works in those homes "that do not meet the minimum habitability requirements", in addition to improvement actions "in accessibility and autonomy in the use of homes for people with functional disabilities or reduced mobility."

This aid, included in section 6 of the City Council's biennial Strategic Subsidy Plan, subsidizes "with 637,756 euros  of the total amount foreseen of 764,491 euros." These adaptations, according to the City Council, "will improve the quality of private homes that constitute the habitual residence, within the municipality of San Bartolomé."

On the other hand, the Council assures that it also seeks "to encourage reforms in the common areas of buildings of collective residential typology", and that with this it will "improve the quality of life of its residents." In addition, they promote works with the aim of "fighting against energy poverty", while "incentivizing works in isolated homes in a situation of being out of order to correct their deficiencies and solve their situation."

"The homes must constitute the habitual residence, within the municipality of San Bartolomé, of their owners or tenants at the time of requesting to benefit from the aid, verifying it ex officio by the administration," says the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez.

The mayor also informs that it will be possible to help thanks to this subsidy "a large number of residents of San Bartolomé to make adaptations in their homes according to the conditions of accessibility and environmental sustainability necessary to adapt them to modernity."

The Councilor for Housing, Marlene Romero, points out that in mid-July "the call will be made so that the neighborhood can apply to benefit from these subsidies." "They will allow some work, reform, adaptation or installation to be carried out, with which the accessibility and sustainability of many homes in the municipality can be improved", adds the councilor
