Samuel Martín Morera was proclaimed this Saturday general secretary of the nationalist youth of Coalición Canaria, at the IV Island Congress that took place in the Casa Ajei of San Bartolomé. His list obtained the support of 98 percent of the votes of the delegates from all the municipalities of the Island, who together with La Graciosa will be represented in the new Executive.

Samuel Martín takes over from the previous president, Echedey Eugenio, who at this meeting gave an account of his management report. The Congress was attended by the general secretary of CC in Lanzarote, David de la Hoz, the island secretary of Organization, Antonio Morales, and the secretary of Communication, Echedey Eugenio. In addition, a resolution of the new secretary of Communication, Sara Bermúdez, against political corruption was unanimously approved.

Other public officials who attended the IV Island Congress were the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, the island councilor, Mónica Álvarez, the councilor of the Government of the Canary Islands, Inés Rojas, and the deputy mayor of the City Council of San Bartolomé, Carmen González, among others. Among the invited attendees were also Saray Rodríguez (PP), Eva de Anta (PSOE), Nicanor Rodríguez and members of the Nationalist Youth of CC in La Palma and Fuerteventura.

The list headed by Martín Morera will have Patricia Pérez as secretary of Organization; David Rocío as deputy secretary of Organization; Sara Bermúdez as secretary of Communication, Universities, Education and Ideology; Elisabeth Socas as secretary of Municipal Policies and Manuel Guillén as secretary of Island Policies. This team also includes Aaron Lemes, Eduardo Díaz, Rosa Pérez, Ubaldo Fierro, Nazaret Machín and Arecia Fontes, who will be the representatives in the Island Political Council. In addition, Raquel Bermúdez and David Monte will be representatives in Tagoror Nacional.

Before his first speech as president of the Nationalist Youth of CC in Lanzarote, Samuel Martín invited the members of his list to join him on stage, as well as Migdalia Machin, Ana Yare Rodríguez and Daniel Morales, who are already national representatives of the party.

A continuity project

Samuel Martín had a memory for Juan Brito Martín, who was going to be named Favorite Son, but finally the initiative was "aborted by the PP and the PIL". In addition, he announced that he will not lead a new project, but that "it will be a continuation of the previous Executive". In this sense, he thanked the Executive "for having managed in the last six years to be stronger than ever, to have the greatest organic representation and public positions in the Canary Islands".

The new president of the nationalist youth of Lanzarote also had words for the general secretary of CC on the island, David de la Hoz, to whom he asked that "the youth can continue to count on the party as until now". "The renovation, the youth and the new ideas are what will lead Coalición Canaria de Lanzarote to achieve a new policy, a policy of ideas and a policy of changes, of true changes," he defended.

In addition, he also conveyed to the general secretary of the Nationalist Youth in the Canary Islands, Jonathan Felipe, who could not attend the Congress, that "you can trust in this project of our Canarian nation".

Finally, Martín made a call for the unity of the nationalists of Lanzarote, because "no one is left over, together we add up and together we will better defend the interests of our land". "Let's not waste time on internal battles, let's look forward and look for Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. When we try to divide, others do not lose, Coalición Canaria loses," he concluded.
