Water fun lovers will have a new option in a few months in Puerto del Carmen. This is at least what the Tías City Council hopes, which has just launched a tender for the operation of a floating water park in Playa Grande. The successful company, in addition to paying a fee to the City Council, would be responsible for assembling this installation, as well as assuming the personnel costs for its maintenance.
The tender specifications state that the water park will be "catwalk type", with "a line of games on floating platforms, indicating a route, and with external game elements to that waterline". For possible offers that are submitted, the City Council asks that "the largest number of elements possible for the proposed occupation" be included, which is about "900 square meters of sea surface".
In addition, it emphasizes that the project must meet "minimum conditions of safety, comfort, design and appearance." Regarding the fee that the City Council will receive, the tender proposes a minimum of 3,586.36 euros per year. That is, 7,172.72 euros for the two years that this award will last.

For their part, according to the tender specifications, users of this water park should pay an entrance fee of 5 euros for access to the facilities for one hour.
Coast Permit
From the City Council they explain that the mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, requested the Demarcation of Coasts of the Canary Islands last April for the concession and authorization for the assembly of these services on the beaches of Puerto del Carmen. Last July, the Demarcation of Coasts approved the request of the Tías City Council and authorized this small floating water park.
The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands has already published the announcement of the Tías City Council for the award and operation of this water park service and potential interested parties have 15 calendar days to submit their offers.
The Councilor for the Environment, Beaches, Fisheries, Heritage and Housing of the Tías City Council, Yolanda García, has highlighted that these facilities will be "complementary to the attractions of the beaches of the Puerto del Carmen coastline, which is committed to a greater presence of family tourism, and this new attraction will make the beaches and their facilities more enjoyable".
