The municipality of Tías will celebrate the Carnival of Puerto del Carmen from March 3 to 6 with a theme based on superheroes. The City Council asks those who love these parties "to come to the events dressed as superheroines and superheroes and to be prudent".
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, insists that "health protocols must be followed to avoid covid-19 infections" and therefore crowds will be avoided and "there will be no festivals or carnival parades."
"We will celebrate the carnival on the same dates as always, the weekend after Shrove Tuesday, but the events will be controlled with prior reservation of entry," says Cruz Saavedra.
The Councilor for Celebrations, Sergio García, explains that the plan is to celebrate the carnival in the Plaza del Varadero with different free shows. "The objective is that fans and carnival groups have the possibility to enjoy themselves with joy, with multiple costumes and always respecting health regulations," says the mayor.
