The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Las Palmas has ratified this Friday the award to the UTE Acciona-Lanzagrava of the Arrecife cruise ship dock expansion works for 19.2 million euros.
The opening of the economic valuation of the expansion of the dike, the last envelope prior to the award, was held last Friday in Lanzarote, in an act presided over by the president of the entity, Luis Ibarra, the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés and the first deputy mayor of Arrecife, José Montelongo.
"The granting of the work to Acciona-Lanzagrava guarantees that the construction of the boxes for the extension of the dock by about 400 meters will be carried out in Lanzarote, as intended from the beginning of the project's bidding process," they point out from the Arrecife City Council.
New dredging in the marina
Likewise, in this Friday's session, the awarding of the works for a third dredging at the entrance to the Marina Lanzarote marina was confirmed, in order to reach five meters of depth and allow the access of larger draft vessels. The investment will be 269,000 euros.
José Montelongo, present at the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, has once again shown "his satisfaction with the support of the entity" to the Arrecife port. "Without a doubt, the sensitivity and investment vocation of the current management of Ports of Las Palmas is unparalleled with those of previous mandates. The understanding and dialogue with the Arrecife City Council have been absolute," he says.
