After requesting a report regarding the debt that the Yaiza Town Hall has with the General Treasury of Social Security since 2002, the PIL and the Socialist Party have raised their voices to denounce the indebtedness situation that the Town Hall has with this organization, since they assure that it owes "the chilling amount of 3,132,948 euros".
The councilors of the Town Hall also assure that this amount is higher than the one reflected, since to the three million euros "it would be necessary to add 20% as a delay fee plus the corresponding sanction to be imposed at the moment in which the payment is made".
The Socialist Party and the Party of Independents of Lanzarote assure that the labor personnel is the most harmed by this situation of indebtedness, since they warn that "today they stop paying Social Security and other creditors but tomorrow they will stop paying the payrolls of said personnel".
In addition, the two opposition groups ask themselves where the Town Hall is going to get the money to face the salaries, "because this is the tiny part of the real debt that this Town Hall supports".
