"Ask Ástrid, set them up to fight, drive a wedge to see if they separate completely now." With these words captured by an open microphone from Biosfera Televisión, Pedro San Ginés encouraged the president of Coalición Canaria, Fernando Clavijo, during the press conference he gave this Wednesday in Lanzarote.

The former president and current councilor of Coalición Canaria in the Cabildo was referring to the relationship between the president of the PP, Ástrid Pérez, and the secretary of the Lanzarote socialists, María Dolores Corujo. Amid laughter, he urged to deepen the separation of both parties after the breakdown of the pact in the Arrecife City Council and in the Cabildo.

That alliance between the PSOE and the PP left CC out of the government of the two main institutions on the island at the beginning of this term. Now, everything indicates that it will join the government group of Arrecife together with the PP, although it will not be able to do so in the Cabildo, where CC and the populars do not add up to the necessary councilors.
