The non-elected councilor and head of the Cabildo's Publications Service, Paula Corujo, has denied that the Cabildo has censored or kidnapped Fernando Castro's book on Cesar Manrique, although she has acknowledged that its distribution has been halted to see that "everything was done correctly."

"What has happened with Fernando Castro's work is what has happened with each and every one of the projects that I find when I get to the management of the areas, which are projects that are inherited, initiated by the previous government group, and I responsibly, as is my obligation, have to review that all the processes have been carried out correctly", Corujo pointed out.

In this regard, the non-elected councilor of the Cabildo has explained that, when she assumed her responsibility, "in the Publications Service there were two works that had been initiated by the previous government group" but that one of them, unlike Fernando Castro's, was already "edited and distributed, pending only presentation", which was 'The case of the sisters María and Petra Cruz'. "But in the case of Fernando Castro's, it was being edited when I entered and pending distribution, so what I said is that the distribution should be left pending until the pertinent checks are made."

In fact, although Paula Corujo is still "seeing all the documentation and technical reports", she has stated that "for the moment" she has not seen that there is "any contract between the parties". "But when I find out what the conditions are and review the report well, normality will be resumed if everything is correct", she added.

Thus, the non-elected councilor of the Cabildo has assured that "in no case the decision" to have stopped the distribution has been "due to the content and has stated that the statements of both its author and CC "are quite far from reality". "And I deeply regret that the author, instead of contacting the Publications Service, has gone directly to the media to make a complaint that is false", she concluded.
