The Opción por Lanzarote party of Tinajo has expressed its concern about the situation of two infrastructures in the municipality, such as the Tinajo road and the sanitation network. Works that, according to them, are having "numerous setbacks". "We are in favor of improving the infrastructure of our municipality and Lanzarote, but we believe that we must act with greater seriousness in the planning of projects," they point out from the party.

Regarding the Tinajo road, Opción por Lanzarote affirms that since the works began they have been able to verify "how it has stagnated, remaining paralyzed for days and weeks, to then continue sporadically and intermittently." Furthermore, they add from the party, "there are sections that imply serious problems for the viability and functionality of the road."

In fact, the mayor of the municipality himself, Jesús Machín, already stated last February that the works were "a mess", because sand slopes had been left on the shoulders that exceeded "2 meters in height". Machín then asked the Cabildo for an urgent solution, which promised to correct the existing deficiencies in the road, although it has not done so to date.

Opción por Lanzarote considers that the residents of Tinajo "deserve a road in good condition", since "they are forced to travel on a narrow road, with little signage, which is also used by a large number of tourists who practice cycling and travel along that road in the direction, mainly, to La Santa." "You cannot improvise constantly and without taking into account the consequences. You cannot start a work without ensuring the financing of the project," they add.

Opción por Lanzarote also expresses "the enormous damages" that this work is causing to farmers who have farms on the sides of the road. "Many of them have been left without access to their land," says the party, which adds that "no compensation has been received for the expropriation of the affected land either."

Sanitation network

Another of the "necessary, but paralyzed before starting" infrastructures, is the sanitation network in the town of Tinajo, point out from Opción por Lanzarote. "It was promised with great fanfare before the elections, but once the elections have passed we see how all kinds of inconveniences and impediments arise."

Likewise, Opción por Lanzarote believes that another problem that requires "an urgent solution" is that of water supply, "which especially affects the farmers of the municipality." "It is a clear responsibility of the political leaders of the institutions of this island, since their responsibility includes adequate planning to avoid these supply problems that remind us of past times," they point out.

From Opción por Lanzarote they show their willingness to support and collaborate with the Tinajo City Council in everything that is beneficial for the citizens of the municipality, but they consider that "it is necessary to act with seriousness and rigor when facing the problems of the different towns of the municipality." "Everything that is positive for the whole of Tinajo will have our support," they conclude.
