The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, promised this Tuesday that the new four-star tourist apartment complex to be built in Costa Teguise, behind El Jablillo beach, will "help create employment and modernize the image" of this tourist center.
Duque emphasizes "the importance of attracting investment in our municipality and having modern and sustainable projects like this one that will bring an extra quality to Costa Teguise as a tourist destination." In addition to highlighting that the initiative will involve an investment of 14 million euros in the municipality, she emphasizes the jobs that will be generated during construction.
"This investment, together with the demolition of two skeletons that we have already executed, will contribute to changing and modernizing the image of Costa Teguise," explains the mayor.
As she has defended, the project contemplates "responsible construction through the use of local materials and the creation of large garden areas with native plants, respecting and integrating into the natural environment of Lanzarote." For its maintenance, it will have "active and passive systems that achieve sustainable operation: water and energy recovery, water saving systems, thermal envelopes and waste management."
For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Rita Hernández, reports that the Law on Renovation and Modernization of Tourism in the Canary Islands provides that these types of authorizations from the Government of the Canary Islands will be granted in Lanzarote "when they involve the implementation of hotel and extra-hotel establishments that meet building quality and service standards, which guarantee the minimum environmental impact."
The tourist town of Costa Teguise will soon have this new accommodation establishment, after the Government Council of the Canary Islands gave the green light yesterday to the construction project of a 4-star apartment complex, which will have sustainable water and energy use systems to reduce the ecological footprint. The property is promoted by the company Nivaria Beach, S.L.U.
The plot on which this new establishment is planned, located on Avenida Los Cocederos, and overlooking Las Cucharas beach, is already cemented and has an area of 17,625 square meters where 143 homes and 292 tourist places will be built.
