Nueva Canarias has developed a project for the implementation of a new Basic Health Zone (ZBS) in the capital of Lanzarote, called Arrecife III, which would include the neighborhoods of Argana Alta, Argana Baja and Maneje, and has announced that it will take to Parliament the "need" for its creation.

According to the formation, "this third basic health zone would facilitate the decongestion of health services in the capital, currently organized in two zones, which serve more than 75,000 people."

In this regard, NC recalls that the basic health zones are the geographical delimitations that serve as a reference for the action of the primary care team. "These entail a series of advantages such as a complete portfolio of health services that, on the contrary, would not be facilitated with a clinic or health center dependent on another basic health zone," he explains.

In the words of Yoné Caraballo, island secretary of Welfare of NC, "a reorganization of the health structure of the island and, specifically, of Arrecife is necessary". He also points out that "the ZBS Arrecife III is a strategic public action for the capital, since it is growing towards those neighborhoods, as evidenced by the construction of 200 homes in Maneje. We must provide them now with complete and good public services."

Thus, the deputy Esther González has filed a question addressed to the Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Blas Trujillo, which will be answered in the next plenary session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands. "The parliamentarians of NC are transferring the demands that the colleagues of Lanzarote send us, working together so that the island is strongly represented in Parliament," says the deputy and spokesman of NC in the Autonomous Chamber, Luis Campos.

With everything, NC values "the good work that is being done from different instances of the political party, the parliamentary group and the Government of the Canary Islands, aware that in these moments of health and economic crisis all hands are few." "For NC, Lanzarote and La Graciosa are sensitive islands that deserve to be equipped with quality public services. I will not rest until I achieve it," concludes Yoné Caraballo.
