Merino claims to have a feeling of "unease" regarding the possible departure of Somos from the Arrecife Government

She states that in a telematic meeting of the party, attended by "only four people", there was no firm position, and it was agreed that it would continue to be debated "among the bodies of the secretariat".

The Councilor for Youth, Citizen Participation and Infractions of the Arrecife City Council and only councilor of Somos Lanzarote, Elisabet Merino, claims to have a feeling of "unease" and "nervousness" regarding her party's decision on the continuity in the government group, after the entry of Coalición Canaria. However, she has not clarified whether she will abide by the decision of Somos in case it is decided to leave the government, and has limited herself to pointing out that she is "awaiting the decision".

Merino assures that, once the pact between the PP and the PSOE was broken, she met with Councilor Paula Corujo. In that meeting they agreed that there would be "a meeting of the party's secretariat", in order to make a decision. In that telematic meeting, which was attended by "only 4 people", she states that there was no firm position, and that it was agreed that "they would continue talking among the bodies of the secretariat".

Likewise, Eli Merino has assured that she was taken "by surprise" by the resignation of NC councilor Armando Santana, with whom she shared an electoral list, to continue on the Government Board and therefore also to the deputy mayorship. In this sense, Merino has stated that she will continue on the Government Board, although she has added that if she had known Santana's decision beforehand, "she would have valued it".

The councilor has stated that her party has not entered "at any of the moments" into the negotiations between the PP and CC, and that she hopes that there will be "collaboration, work and understanding" in the new government group. "That is what is important, that the citizens are tired of this instability, of having a government group at the beginning and ending with a different one", Merino pointed out on Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero, and added that the capital needs "an important boost" to finish the legislature "in the best possible way".

Merino has assured that the rest of the members of Somos, apart from Paula Corujo, are "a little detached", and that she has requested "on several occasions" meetings in the party, to know what would happen with the pact, although she affirms that "she has not been answered".

"Somos is a party that had a beautiful project, but that from 2019 its activity is null, and we were only working Paula Corujo and this one who speaks to you", Eli Merino sentenced, who considers that there will be "a common current" between her councilor's act and the position that Paula Corujo occupies as a non-elected councilor in the Cabildo.
