Mercadona will begin work this Thursday to establish itself in Playa Honda, after having already obtained all the municipal permits. This was announced by the San Bartolomé City Council itself, which confirms that last Friday it granted the company the urban planning license, which was the only procedure that was missing to start the work.
At the same time, work continues to advance in the other two points of the island where Mercadona will be established, that is, in the Arrecife neighborhoods of Valterra and Argana. In the case of Playa Honda, the commercial area will be installed in the industrial area, in six plots of Land Suitable for Urbanization (SAU) number 11.
The establishment will have a construction area of 3,238.58 square meters. The supermarket's exhibition and sales area will be 1,839.30 meters and will also have 205 parking spaces, 7 of them adapted.
The councilor for the industrial area, Juan Carlos Rocío, points out that "it is important that large companies are installed in the Commercial Park, because they will generate employment and wealth for the municipality and attract other businesses."
