The mayor of San Bartolomé, Marcial Martín Bermúdez, accompanied by the first vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Fabián Martín, as well as the first deputy mayor, Concepción Álvarez Camacho, and the councilor for Public Works and Services, Andrés Stinga Perdomo, visited this Tuesday the paving works that are being carried out on San Borondón street, which connects Mástil and Princesa Ico streets in Playa Honda.

The works, jointly financed by the San Bartolomé City Council, the Lanzarote Cabildo and the Central Government, have a budget of almost 96,000 euros (95,741.32) and comprise a section of more than 1,300 meters. These works are included within the Island Cooperation Plan for Municipal Competence Works and Services and Roads 2007.

In addition, according to the mayor of the municipality, Marcial Martín, the machinery has been used to also asphalt 110 meters of a small street extension of San Borondón that was in poor condition. At the same time, a bump has been placed on the road, in the vicinity of the Playa Honda School, "so that vehicles are forced to reduce speed in that area where schoolchildren travel and cross," said Marcial Martín.

School cafeteria and municipal nursery

In relation to the school cafeteria planned for the town of Playa Honda, the first mayor announced during the visit that "the land where the school cafeteria will be located is being removed", also assuring that the local Governing Board had approved this Monday, November 19, the second work certification of the future Municipal Nursery.
