The Deputy Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuela Armas, announced this Friday on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that a training and entrepreneurship plan for young people, with funds from the European Union, will be launched on October 1.

In total, the regional Executive expects between 100 and 200 million euros to arrive in the archipelago, destined for young people between 16 and 30 years old, who are interested in getting a job or improving their employability, in developing an entrepreneurship project, in acquiring work experience or in completing their basic training.

"The Canary Islands is the first community that has launched a public document to develop this European initiative," Manuela Armas highlighted. As she explained, young people will have access to an advisor, who will assist them according to their needs.

A common telephone

For this, a common telephone will be enabled for all the Canary Islands, and from there the specific attention will be organized in each island. "It seems fundamental to me. The more unemployment there is, the more need there is for this type of program," said the Deputy Minister.

Manuela Armas has announced that during the next month of September all the necessary information will be provided so that interested young people know what they should do to access this new service, since they want the project to be up and running from October 1.

"The working table is developing very well," the Deputy Minister has advanced, who explained that three ministries of the Canarian Government are coordinating to work on this project, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of the Presidency.
