The members of the Popular Party of San Bartolomé unanimously supported Lorenzo Reyes in his election as president of the Local Committee during the VI Assembly held on Friday night at the Guime Sociocultural Center.
Lorenzo Reyes, who joined the Popular Party project more than 18 years ago with NNGG, thanked the support and affection shown by all his colleagues who took advantage of the event to thank the work done in this last stage by the councilor, Juan Rivera, and the honorary president of the popular Lanzaroteños, Pedro Reyes, a historical member of the Popular Party of Lanzarote.
The new local leader highlighted the decisive role that the Popular Party must play again within a municipality and a town hall, of which he said, "cannot close the door to any neighbor because everyone should be and will be heard".
Lorenzo Reyes acknowledged that he has taken the step to be in the front row "in the face of the need to put an end to a government that lives on unfulfilled promises." "The residents of San Bartolomé need a strong, united, close and always responsible PP with the needs of the citizens," he said.
Both the Island Coordinator, Saray Rodríguez, and the Island President, Astrid Pérez, praised Lorenzo Reyes' "honesty, enthusiasm and desire to work", of whom Pérez recognized his qualities to "earn the respect of all his colleagues and be a political reference in the municipality of San Bartolomé for 2019". "Many residents have confidence and hope in you to build a municipality in a positive way and away from the political games that other political forces continue to practice," said Astrid Pérez.
