The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote approved this Monday the final resolution of the granting of subsidies for the fishing sector of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, in the year 2023, which amounts to 179,609.03 euros.
The deadline for submitting subsidies through competitive bidding opened on May 18 and concluded on June 16, with a total of 42 applications submitted, of which 39 were favorable, three rejected, and none were inadmissible for processing. Among the requirements to access the aid, it was necessary to have fishing as the main activity and be registered in the Census of the Operational Fishing Fleet.
“The subsidies cover the acquisition of navigation materials such as GPS sounders, radars, VHF radios, and also the improvement works on the boats. We want our fishermen to be able to continue operating safely and competitively,” according to the Councilor for Fisheries of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Samuel Martín.
The payment of the subsidies will be made by bank transfer and in a single term. Those interested can consult the subsidized amounts on the electronic notice board of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and on the agrolanzarote website.
