The Social Welfare and Inclusion Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, led by Councilor Marciano Acuña, convenes through the Specialized Social Inclusion and Intervention Service a line of economic benefits for Social Emergency Aid, an initiative that has a total budget of 408,060 euros.

These aids from the Institution are intended to guarantee the social protection of families in Lanzarote and La Graciosa who may find themselves in situations of economic vulnerability.

Of the total budget of this island call, most of the economic amount, 348,060 euros, are Social Assistance funds destined to cover emergency aid for the payment of rent, supplies, food, clothing, school supplies, medicines and other concepts that are assessed by the technical staff of the area. In addition, another 60,000 euros correspond to funds that will be used to cover certain technical aids, such as hearing aids, glasses, dental prostheses and other facultative prescriptions, as well as the adaptation of homes for the elimination of architectural barriers.

Councilor Marci Acuña recalls that any person or family unit that wants information to apply for these aids must first be assessed from the municipality in which they are registered, in order to be subsequently referred to the Specialized Social Inclusion and Intervention Service that will process the aid in compliance with the requirements of the call.

This specialized Service of the Social Welfare and Inclusion Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which to date has served around 1,400 people, works at the island level in coordination with the Social Services of the town councils in the cases of people in situations of social exclusion or at risk of exclusion. They also monitor cases in housing resources for homeless people.

The Specialized Social Inclusion and Intervention Service is located on Avenida Alcalde Ginés de la Hoz, s/n (La Paciencia), next to the Arrecife Sports City.
