The leader of the Platform of the Municipality of Haría, José Torres Stinga, has been forceful in rejecting the “offer” of Coalición Canaria to temporarily return to the government group, to assume its areas while on medical leave. “CC in Haría should not be brought closer to power, it should be kept away and the further away the better”, Torres has pointed out.
The former mayor of CC and current councilor for the PMH affirms that this is what “this period” in which they have shared government has shown him, after the motion of censure that both parties presented against the socialist Alfredo Villalba.
“During the time that we were working together, that became a real ordeal”, he pointed out when talking about his now former government partners.
Torres insists that there was “disloyalty” on the part of Coalición Canaria, but also “concealment” while they shared government, when the mayor was CC councilor Chaxiraxi Niz, and assures that they did not pass on the information.
“They dedicated themselves during the period that we have been with them to vetoing me, as if I were the great danger here”, José Torres Stinga has criticized, recalling that he could not occupy the Mayor's Office either when the time came for it to pass into the hands of the PMH.
In this regard, he assured that when signing the agreement, “the veto was not raised at any time”, and that CC did so later, after having already signed the motion of censure against the PSOE.
“Logically, of course, that could be a reason for breaking up, but I said no, that I didn't want to be an obstacle. For that reason, even ignoring the suggestion of some colleagues, I said well, the important thing is to try to walk to see if there was any possibility. And undoubtedly, not only is there not, but with these actors it is impossible. That's how clear it is”, he stated on Radio Lanzarote – Onda Cero.
He describes blocking the mayor's release as "wickedness"
Torres has also demanded “coherence” from Coalición Canaria, and has described as “wickedness” what its councilors did in the Plenary Session last Saturday, when they voted against the urgency of the point in which they intended to approve the release of the mayor of the PMH Evelia García.
“Curiously, 72 hours before the investiture plenary session they were running to convene an extraordinary and urgent plenary session to release Chaxiraxi Niz and logically they changed their attitude”, he reproached.
In addition, he has stressed that in CC “they knew perfectly well what the situation was” of the current mayor, who says that she must assume the powers of Torres Stinga during the leave that she is going to start for medical reasons, and that therefore she must be released with full dedication and receive a salary.
“CC has been absolutely disoriented for a long time and is doing politics more with its stomach and attending to criteria of visceralism, and of course its recent past comes to demonstrate what I am telling you”, maintains his former partner, who recalls that the party was also “convicted of cheating” in a Congress, shortly before his departure from CC.
“Echedey Eugenio said the other day in a media outlet that Alfredo Villalba had deceived them and Pepe Torres had also deceived them. I don't know who abandoned Alfredo Villalba in Haría, whether it was Pepe Torres or the PMH or whether it was CC”, he has ironically said, insisting on asking for “a minimum of sanity” from Coalición Canaria, which broke the pact with the PSOE to go on to govern with the PMH, and is currently in the opposition after that alliance also broke.
