The Mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, wanted to respond to the statements of the spokesperson for the Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT), Antonio Morales, full of "falsehoods and manipulations that demonstrate that Tinajo is the last thing he cares about."
Machín wants to "radically deny the already sadly habitual lies of Morales because there has never been negligence either with the water cuts or with any issue referring to Tinajo and Antonio Morales should be ashamed to even mention the issue because he could have done something as a councilor of the Cabildo and he did absolutely nothing for the municipality." Regarding the water problem in the municipality, the town hall "has been working for many years. Morales is lying again because he knows the situation because it is a request from Tinajo to Inalsa for many years. Since Canal Gestión won the tender, we were promised an investment that involved the improvement of pipes throughout the municipality and during the last legislature we were promised the repair of the issue of the tanks and the pipe, and to date."
"I have always demanded from the Consortium and Canal Gestión that the residents always have water, but they have to make that investment. But no one can blame Tinajo for negligence, we have been demanding these works for quite some time, we have done our job, administrative disposition, administrative cooperation of the consistory or making the land available, all that is missing is for the Consortium to do the works that amount to about 1,056,000 euros in a first phase with its own funds or, failing that, with funds from the FDCAN because solving the issue of the tanks and the two pipes would solve the issue by 80 percent for the residents of Tinajo. Canal Gestión has been asked for a schedule of water cuts. Morales knows that the problem has occurred even while he was a councilor in the Cabildo and he was unable to solve the problem for our farmers," says Machín.
The Tinajero mayor confirms that "the Consortium has the budget for about fifteen streets in the municipality that need new pipes, but the definitive solution consists of putting a new pipe from Montaña Mina to Tinajo. On the other hand, I have spoken with Deputy Jesús Machín Tavío to try to reactivate the irrigation plan in Parliament and declare it of general interest. We have been stuck with this plan for more than ten years, we want it to be executed in phases because the first phase consists of putting in the irrigation pipes, as this would solve the problem of agriculture and alleviate the supply pipes, improving the service for the residents. This plan went ahead with Paco Fabelo but with Antonio Morales in the council, curiously, it stalled. With this issue, many residents would already have an improvement in their networks. Tinajo has not been negligent in any way and I am not going to accept that they deceive and lie with false accusations to our residents. If everyone had dedicated themselves to contributing what they should have contributed, this issue would already be solved," concludes the mayor of Tinajo, who will meet again with the Insular Water Consortium this Monday.
