The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, responds to the accusations of the PSOE after the nationalist government abstained in the socialist motion that asked the Government of the Canary Islands to demand the completion of the works of the Infant Education classroom from zero to three years of the CEIP Guiguan of Mancha Blanca. Among other things, the party accused Machín of "wanting to look good with the Clavijo Government" and of "turning his back on the families of Tinajo."
Machín says he is not surprised "by the attitude of the PSOE spokesperson from Tinajo. Such malice to try to manipulate and deceive the people of Tinajo is starting to be their only way of acting and they do not realize that the people already know their lies." At the same time, the nationalist mayor assures that he has shown "more than enough that I don't care who is in the Canarian government, Tinajo comes before everything and everyone." While he accuses Begoña Hernández of "having demonstrated that the PSOE comes before Tinajo, Lanzarote, our children and the truth. It is surprising that she dares to speak of Clavijo's political will when she is incapable of recognizing that the mistake was made by the PSOE."
"I remind" the socialist spokesperson, continues the mayor, "that the plenary session is recorded and in the plenary session I told her up to three times that if she recognized that it was a socialist error of the previous Canarian government, the government group would approve the motion, obtaining, on each occasion, a no for an answer, being not brave enough to tell the truth," says the mayor of Tinajo.
"We confirm that the town hall has done its job and will continue to do so, that the town hall reached an agreement with the former socialist Minister of Education, Manuela Armas, an agreement that Tinajo fulfilled but Armas, for whatever reason, did not fulfill with Tinajo. Armas asked for collaboration and Tinajo complied with the excavation, foundation and retaining wall, Tinajo did it in a timely manner, and the problem is in the furniture and, in addition, the PSOE was wrong to register the children and inform them that they would start in September when the PSOE already knew that the works were not going to be finished," says Jesús Machín.
"Mrs. Hernández, you were in a meeting with Manuela De Armas, the island directorate and the directors of the two schools when the Canarian government was still socialist and they announced that the classroom would open in September. They lied to the people of Tinajo and I remind you that Clavijo entered months later. After explaining the situation and asking the socialist spokesperson to recognize that the problem was not in the current government but came from the former socialist minister, Begoña Hernández refused, up to three times, to recognize the PSOE's fault in this matter," says Machín.
At the same time, the mayor of Tinajo points out that the PSOE spokesperson in the municipality, Begoña Hernández, is full of "cynicism" and wants to demand that Clavijo fix the socialists' breaches. "She speaks of surprise in the vote when she was asked up to three times. Socialist, manipulative and self-interested silence, in response." Likewise, the nationalist insists that from the PSOE "dares to justify the socialist breach with the inevitable delays that is another bombastic phrase in the style of "pedagogy of amnesty", "memory policies", "total disconnection" or "deafening silence" that could well be applied to some of them by the PSOE Tinajo spokesperson herself in her work in our municipality. As some of her colleagues in Congress say, "education and shame", Mrs. Begoña Hernández."
"The people of Tinajo can rest assured," concludes the mayor, Jesús Machín, "we have complied and will continue to do so. The work is finished and the furniture that was put out to tender by the government of the Canary Islands is pending and was deserted. The only classroom that is going to be put into operation in Lanzarote is the one in Guiguan and it is because Tinajo did his homework.
The extension of the Virgen de Los Volcanes gymnasium
To conclude, the mayor points out as "another failed commitment of the socialist government" the extension of the Virgen de Los Volcanes gymnasium, "which we have been waiting for four years, and the shade areas of our schools that have also been left in limbo." At the same time, he insists that "we will continue working to solve the problem of these families in Tinajo because it is not only those of Mancha Blanca for whom we have been fighting for two years, the 18 children of Guiguan, but also another 11 of the Virgen de Los Volcanes."
"Manuela Armas deceived me because she promised that if the town hall did the one in Mancha Blanca, she would do the one for the second two-year-old classroom in Los Volcanes," defends Jesús Machín.
The mayor assures that "in the executive of the FECAM there was talk of the situation of the classrooms in the Canary Islands pending completion and those of Tinajo were not there." To conclude, he also adds that "the socialist commitment was that of the classrooms from two years onwards and not that of zero to three years." The Vegueta or El Cuchillo canteen are, for Machín, "other examples of how Tinajo was left stranded."
Thus, he adds that "the socialist government was wrong." At the same time that he maintains having "a good concept" of Manuela Armas, but that he cannot allow the PSOE of Tinajo to "try to manipulate our neighbors. The fault lies with the previous socialist government and if they are unable to recognize it, little more can be asked of them, as always, they put the false appearances of their party before telling the truth to the people of Tinajo. Enough of pulling the wool over people's eyes. We will continue working for Tinajo."
