The parents of the Primary students of the CEO Ignacio Aldecoa of La Graciosa continue their protest due to the lack of appointment of a teacher, and this Tuesday they also refused to let their children enter class. "The Ministry has announced that he will be appointed today and we are waiting", said the delegate councilor of the eighth island, Alicia Páez, who was this Tuesday at the doors of the center together with the Education councilor of Teguise.
For its part, although the Ministry of Education stated this Monday that it did not understand the reason for the protest, assuring that all the teachers at the center were "appointed", it has now been acknowledged that there was "a delay" and that the appointment of the holder of the position, which was scheduled for last Friday, was not carried out. "He will be appointed today", they have stated on the other hand from the Island Directorate of Education in Lanzarote.
"But the needs of La Graciosa have not been neglected", they have highlighted, however, from Education, emphasizing that "the center has the full staff because the position was filled with a substitute". "And there is no figure of assistant teacher, he is an equal teacher", they also wanted to clarify from Education. "It is equally trained personnel", they added.
