Daniel Morales and Luis Arráez, appointed directors of Youth and the Canary Islands Institute of Agri-Food Quality

The appointment took place this Monday in the Governing Council together with that of José Montelongo

The Canary Islands Government Council has approved this Monday, in its meeting held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a series of 33 new appointments that are integrated into the executive team of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. Among them three people from Lanzarote: Daniel Morales, Luis Arráez and José Montelongo

Daniel Morales will be in charge of the General Directorate of Youth. In his political career he has served as advisor and councilor of Youth of the City Council of Teguise (2009-2015) and in the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote (2017-2019). He was a marketing technician in art, culture and tourism centers of Lanzarote.

He holds a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, specializing in Institutional Communication. He holds two university master's degrees in Image Consulting and Executive Political Consulting, and in Teacher Training in the specialty of Commerce and Marketing. He studied certified English. He is currently studying for a degree in Communication at the UNIR.

For his part, Luis Arráez will head the Canary Islands Institute of Agri-Food Quality (ICCA). He has been fourth vice president and councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, councilor in the City Council of Haría and member of the Council of the Biosphere Reserve of Lanzarote, Society for the Promotion of Foreign Affairs of Lanzarote and of the general assembly of La Caja Insular de Ahorros de Canarias.

Luis Arráez

He holds a degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Marine Biology with an extraordinary end-of-degree award, from the University of La Laguna. Career civil servant of the Body of Secondary Education Teachers, specializing in Biology and Geology, assigned to the IES San Bartolomé. He has served as a professor of Biology and Geology, head of Department and coordinator of Health Promotion and Emotional Education, Environmental Education and Sustainability in the same center.
