The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, received this Friday at the institution, together with the senator for Lanzarote, Manuel Fajardo and the deputy and councilor, Ariagona González, the spokesperson for the Socialist Party in the Congress of Deputies and deputy for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Héctor Gómez.
From the Cabildo they point out that the meeting has assessed the impact that the Labor Reform has had on Lanzarote, ensuring that it has been "the island that suffered the most from the economic crisis generated by the pandemic, and in which indefinite hiring has grown by 40%, with special incidence, in addition, among the youth population".
On the other hand, from the Corporation they add that it was "inevitable" to address the issue of the Valterra homes. “I cannot be happier and more proud of the initiative that grants ownership of the Valterra homes to those who have been their legitimate owners thanks to the effort and sensitivity of the Government of Spain, the senator and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and not other people or other administrations, to put an end to the unfair situation that dozens of families in a situation of special vulnerability have experienced. Valterra has been present in the Congress of Deputies and has found the solidarity and sensitivity of the Government,” said the president.
On the other hand, Gómez has analyzed "the importance of the ERTES promoted by the Central Government to face the health crisis, as well as the legislative initiatives approved in the midst of an unprecedented crisis in the history of this country, in addition to the evolution of the economy on the island”.

In addition, Gómez valued “the success of the measures that the Government of the Canary Islands, presided over by Ángel Víctor Torres, is implementing for the recovery of the economic fabric of the archipelago" and, in particular, "of the tourism sector in the midst of a complex situation after a pandemic and in the midst of the warlike climate that is breathed in Europe”.
