The official course "Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations" aimed at employed people who seek to improve their qualification in hospitality without giving up their work responsibilities will begin on August 12 in a 100% online mode.
Until now, this training, which is fully subsidized by the Ministry of Education, was taught by Akacenter only in person. The novelty will allow participants to study at their own pace, without fixed schedules, reconciling their work life with learning. Only the exams will be done in person, with options for time adaptation.
The program, with a duration of two and a half months (315 hours including practices), grants the Certificate of Professionalism in Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations, an official qualification recognized by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education that opens the door to better working conditions in a key sector for the island's economy.
The training includes essential contents such as room service, customer service protocol, preparation of drinks and fast food, hygiene and food safety regulations, and product supply. In addition, participants will carry out practices in real establishments to gain experience and increase their chances of hiring.
Hospitality continues to be the engine of employment in Lanzarote, but trends indicate that professional qualification is the key to accessing positions with greater stability and better salaries. This course responds to that need, especially designed for those who work and require flexibility in their studies.
