Ciudadanos has created a working group in San Bartolomé to "analyze the situation of the municipality and attend to the needs of its residents." The orange formation is thus established in the municipality through these affiliates, who are almost a dozen, and who will work on local proposals that they will then transfer to the party at the island level.
Last Monday, this San Bartolomé working group held a first presentation meeting, which was attended by island officials of the orange formation, such as the Ciudadanos councilor in the Cabildo, Benjamín Perdomo, or the party's candidate for the Senate for Lanzarote, María Moreira, as well as other members of the board.
The objective of the formation is to "continue growing and expand the Ciudadanos project in all the municipalities of the island", they emphasize. In this sense, Moreira explained to La Voz that the formation is becoming increasingly "stronger", so it is necessary to "separate" and be "more present in each place". "Now is a complicated stage because it is the elections and we do not want to do it with an electoral view either, but we do want to be very present in all places in a very short space of time. Even if we are not in the Government of the town hall, we want to be there seeing what is happening and trying to make things go as they should and defending the citizens", explains the candidate for the Senate. In this sense, she points out that this same week the party has maintained a "first contact" with supporters in Costa Teguise, also with a view to forming a working group there in the future.
Moreira has indicated that she plans to "be in all" of these municipal groups, without being in any of them, so that, when the time comes, she "can defend their demands with knowledge of the facts." "Ciudadanos has arrived in San Bartolomé, with the aim of implementing another way of doing politics, focused on the citizens and residents of San Bartolomé and the island", the party highlights.
