The island president of the Canarian Coalition, Mario Pérez, did not want to anticipate the content of the meeting that the Permanent Commission will hold this Saturday, nor the decisions that the party leadership may have taken regarding the election results, especially regarding the defeat of Mª Isabel Déniz. Regarding the possible consequences it could have on the political future of the current mayor of Arrecife, Mario Pérez has deferred the answer to the meeting this Saturday where "the results will be properly assessed and made public".

Regarding the agreement reached by PSOE and the Party of Independents of Lanzarote to govern in the institutions where absolute majorities have not been achieved, the president of CC Lanzarote has stated that in principle they respect it but will enter into "more in-depth" assessments when the agreement and the program with which they intend to govern are specified. He also denies that the Canarian Coalition has held conversations with other formations to seal alliances. "With absolute clarity, I tell you that we have not had contact with other parties. We are respectful of the outcome of the polls", says Mario Pérez, although he assures that they are willing to sit down and negotiate if requested by any formation.

"Forms are important in democracy", says the nationalist leader, "it is only up to us that when they call us, if they call us, we attend the meeting." For the moment, the possibilities of entering a Government group are in Yaiza and in the Government of the Canary Islands, where he assures that Paulino Rivero is waiting for Fernando López Aguilar to take the first step. Referring to the situation of the southern municipality, he asserts that it is up to the Nationalist Party of Lanzarote "to initiate the contacts". Mario Pérez has not ruled out an agreement with any of the most voted parties, PNL and PIL. "We hope that the contacts will be fruitful and a majority will emerge to govern", says the president of CC.
