The Extraordinary Assembly of the Local Committee of the Canarian Coalition in San Bartolomé, elected David Rocío this Tuesday as candidate for Mayor of said City Council in the elections of May 2023.
“I am running because I am motivated, because I have a feeling of sadness because San Bartolomé is worse than in 2019 and of anger for not having been able to govern and improve my municipality, because they have not implemented our proposals, and for having worked from the opposition in a constructive way with a government that thinks it is very smart but that, however, has proven not to have management capacity,” said David Rocío, who received 100% of the votes.
Rocío, who had words of remembrance for his colleague Miguel Ángel de la Borbolla, who passed away last August, took a tour of “the unmet needs of each of the town's people”. “More than three years have already been lost selling smoke and the quality of life of our neighbors has not improved,” he added.
Thus, he stressed that the Canarian Coalition “has to govern again”. “Because we have proven to know how to do it and no one can tell us that we did not improve the quality of life of our neighbors,” he stressed, adding that “we paved when the municipality really needed it, we provided the towns with sports facilities, we invested millions in good street cleaning and gardening, we fixed the teleclubs and generated employment and wealth. We turned the commercial area into the fastest growing area in the Canary Islands, we brought in more than 15 brands, we created more than 800 jobs and grew our budget by more than 3 million euros per year,” he said.
“As we already did, we will do it again because we want to improve assistance services, activities, educational centers, etc. and once again be a benchmark in the creation of employment and wealth through the industrial area,” he asserted.
