“This would be solved by rehabilitating a space for it, or simply resuming the first half hour free in the airport parking lot,” said the deputy spokesperson, Pedro San Ginés

Coalition Canaria in the Cabildo of Lanzarote raises to the next plenary session of the Corporation a proposal for the Government of the Canary Islands to mediate before AENA and correct "the comparative grievance that prevents users of the César Manrique airport from approaching the arrivals gate of T1 for a few minutes with their private vehicle without having to pay, as is the case in the rest of the Canary airports".

“This would be solved by rehabilitating a space for it, or simply resuming the first half hour free in the airport parking lot”, said the deputy spokesperson, Pedro San Ginés.

As the nationalists explain in their motion, the management of the Lanzarote airport has taken measures to "limit traffic in the arrivals area of the main terminal." That is, "it has prohibited private individuals from parking to pick up passengers, to the point that fines have already been imposed for this, allowing only the transit of public service vehicles such as buses and taxis, as well as rental cars from companies with a presence at the airport."

Likewise, and in the face of AENA's assertion that the measure seeks to promote the use of public transport, San Ginés stresses that “it does not seem that imposing it by prohibiting the collection of travelers to family members or relatives is the best way to do it”.

For CC-PNC, everything is part of AENA's "mercantilist policy of squeezing all available resources to the maximum without considering our double insularity or the high profitability that the Lanzarote airport represents for the entire network of airports in the country”.
